***MEDITATION ON LORD SHRI VISHNU***
Dressed in
white you are,
Oh, all
pervading one,
And glowing
with the colour of moon.
With four
arms, you are, the all knowing one
I meditate
on your ever-smiling face,
And pray, Remove all obstacles on my way.
Bow I
before Vishnu
Who is
pure,
Who is not
affected,
Who is
permanent,
Who is the
ultimate truth.
And He who
wins over,
All the mortals in this world.
Bow I
before Him,
The
all-powerful Vishnu,
The mere
thought of whom.
Releases
one forever,
Of the ties
of birth and life.
Bow I before the all powerful Vishnu.
ReplyDeleteEver since i joined the Hindu fold, Lord Vishnu has followed me. He was the first i ever read about, saw and fell in love with. Despite my initial exposure and appreciation of Advaita; every time i asked the Lord for a sign on who should be my Ishtadeva, Vishnu's image or name would appear... Since reading the Gospels of Sri Ramakrishna, i've found myself loving and appreciating Lord Vishnu's form even more, because i'm seeing Him more and more everyday within everything. It's astounding how much more i've come to appreciate our beautiful Lord through my intense love of the teachings of Advaitin sages... I realized driving home one night that no matter what bad happens, He is ALWAYS with me and this soul can never be separated from Him or His divine love... And whenever i want i can just close my eyes and see His gorgeous eyes peering into my soul...
The moments I've mentioned above along with the ecstatic devotion, japa chanting, proudly wearing my Tulsi beads and greeting the Lord on my altar every morning makes being a Vaishnava worth while...
